Birds saved my life...
In 2020 many of us were left no choice but to slow down.
After almost a decade spent living in a sterile, confined cabin at sea, I came back home to my first garden. I was totally overcome with wonder and awe of all the colours, textures, sights and sounds something as simple as a suburban garden had to offer, and I was especially enamoured with the birds.
My little boy and I first started noticing their unique personalities, some were jumpy, some friendly, some foraged, some always in pairs.
How did I miss this growing up? I thought.
Noticing the birds, their colours, sounds and personalities started calming my nervous system immediately. During a rocky life patch it offered me the most coveted human state of being: presence. Without it we are disconnected, lost.
This is why now, six years later, I’ve illustrated, and noticed almost 500 birds, hosted Bird Art Safaris and built a small business that is spreading its wings through thoughtful creation, design and production.
Sustainability at the heart of it, Conservation and Care as its core.
